Zayn Malik Leaves One Direction, Band To Continue As Four-Piece

It is a message that will lead to tears in thousands of teenage bedrooms the world over: Just after midnight tonight, 26th of March 2015, the official One Direction Facebook page announced the departure of group member Zayn Malik. The group is set to continue as a four piece.

The statement posted on the official page reads as follows:

After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year.

Zayn says: “My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to apologise to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”

One Direction say: “We’re really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our love for the future. The past five years have been beyond amazing, we’ve gone through so much together, so we will always be friends. The four of us will now continue. We’re looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour.”

Simon Cowell says: “I would like to say thank you to Zayn for everything he has done for One Direction. Since I first met Zayn in 2010, I have grown very, very fond – and immensely proud – of him. I have seen him grow in confidence and I am truly sorry to see him leave. As for One Direction, fans can rest assured that Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis are hugely excited about the future of the band.”

 

While most people above the age of 25 might now be wondering what the big deal is, the departure of one fifth of this hugely successful and totally manufactured group will leave many of their (mostly female) fans devastated. Kleenex shares are bound to go up sharply as screams of “Nooooooo” and “Don’t leave, Zayn!” can be heard across neighborhoods the world over.

Like or loathe One Direction, the boys have been successful for quite a while now, but just like all boy bands before them, things eventually come to an end. Maybe this is the beginning of the end for One Direction – but don’t worry, Directioners: you’re not the first to go through boy band heartbreak and you won’t be the last. Your parents went through this way before Simon Cowell was even born and subsequently allowed to do unspeakable things to the music industry – just ask them about The Osmonds, or The Beatles, or even New Kids On The Block. Former World Wrestling Entertainment star Rey Mysterio Jr could face manslaughter charges stemming from the in-ring death of fellow wrestler Pedro Aguayo Ramirez.

The lucha libre wrestler, who wrestled under the name Perro Aguayo Jr, died on Saturday, March 21 after taking a dropkick to the side of the neck while tag teaming with Manik against Mysterio Jr and Xtreme Tiger at the Municipal Auditorium in Tijuana, Mexico.

Several videos of the incident have emerged of the incident showing Mysterio hitting the dropkick to set the 35-year-old Aguayo up for his finishing maneuver, the 619. Aguayo landed with his neck on the second rope and remained slumped there until after the match.

Former World Championship Wrestling star Konnan went over to check on him, as did Mysterio, breaking character as his opponent to inform the referee of his opponent’s plight. The match continued for two minutes as a 2-on-1 before Aguayo was stretchered out.

The Associated Press reports that the Baja California state prosecutor’s office has ruled the cause of death to be trauma to the neck and a cervical fracture, and has opened an investigation into a possible manslaughter charge.

Mysterio, whose real name is Oscar Gutierrez, tweeted his condolences to Aguayo in Spanish.

“We formed our friendship of brothers only a few years back and we should not question God's plan,” writes Mysterio.

“But on this occasion, I'm asking why and I don't understand. I miss you and will take you with me for the rest of my life, rest in peace Hijo del Perro.”

 

The show was promoted by The Crash but Aguayo had wrestled for the Mexico based Asistencia Asesoría y Administración. He began wrestling at age 15 and was also known as El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, a reference to his father, Mexican wrestling legend Perro Aguayo.

AP also reports that the ringside doctor was not on the scene because he was helping another injured performer, but paramedics and a doctor in the audience attended.

Nowadays child abuse is always on the headlines. Most people would feel awful with those kind of misconduct. What if you see a boy being beaten up and tied in a pole? What would you feel? 

Recently, an incident of beating a seven-year old boy and tied up in a wooden pole happened in Bangalane district of Nakhon Pathorn, Thailand. According to the authorities, the boy was tied in the said pole and allegedly canned by his aunt as a punishment when she learned that he stole a candy worth six baht in a convenience store. 

The images about the incident went viral online which led the superintendent of Banglane police, Col. Chatpong Sookboonchuthep to start an investigation.

Upon learning the incident authorities immediately conducted a rescue mission. The victim was in the state of exhaustion when found during the raid.

The poor boy was rushed to Banglane district hospital and was later on confirmed that he was abused. The victim’s grandmother reported to the police about the incident; that her daughter enraged to physically abuse him upon learning the crime. She added that her daughter paid 300 baht to the store so that the boy was freed without pressing charges against him. The victim was sent temporarily to a child care centre called Children’s Foundation located in the area.

LONGMONT, CO- A 34-year-old Colorado woman is accused of stabbing a pregnant woman, and then attempting to remove the victim's baby.

That baby did not make it, and officials say the pregnant woman was taken to Longmont United Hospital, where she underwent surgery and is expected to recover.

According to Fox 31 Denver, the woman was seven month's pregnant, and was stabbed when she answered a Craigslist ad for baby clothes.

Longmont police responded to a reported around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, and told Fox 31, "Officers arrived on scene and could hear a female calling for help inside the home. Officers entered the home and located a female who had been beaten and stabbed in the stomach," adding "It was later learned, the female was pregnant and her baby had been removed. The victim was transported to the Longmont United Hospital where she underwent surgery and is expected to recover."

Police say the suspect, 34-year-old Dynel Lane, then went to the hospital with the baby and claimed it was a miscarriage. They told Fox 31 that Lane's husband drove her and they baby to the hospital. The husband is not under arrest.

Lane was arrested and charged with several felonies including attempted murder, assault, and child abuse resulting in death.
