VIRAL: Baby Dies After Woman Allegedly Stabs Pregnant Mother, Removes Baby From Womb


LONGMONT, CO- A 34-year-old Colorado woman is accused of stabbing a pregnant woman, and then attempting to remove the victim's baby.

That baby did not make it, and officials say the pregnant woman was taken to Longmont United Hospital, where she underwent surgery and is expected to recover.

According to Fox 31 Denver, the woman was seven month's pregnant, and was stabbed when she answered a Craigslist ad for baby clothes.

Longmont police responded to a reported around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, and told Fox 31, "Officers arrived on scene and could hear a female calling for help inside the home. Officers entered the home and located a female who had been beaten and stabbed in the stomach," adding "It was later learned, the female was pregnant and her baby had been removed. The victim was transported to the Longmont United Hospital where she underwent surgery and is expected to recover."

Police say the suspect, 34-year-old Dynel Lane, then went to the hospital with the baby and claimed it was a miscarriage. They told Fox 31 that Lane's husband drove her and they baby to the hospital. The husband is not under arrest.
Lane was arrested and charged with several felonies including attempted murder, assault, and child abuse resulting in death.
